Polylactic Acid (PLA) is made from corn starch. Lactic Acid is amde from Dextrose through fermentation, which is made of corn starch which consists of carbon dioxide and water. PLA plastics look and feel like traditional petroleum-based plastic, but are biodegradable and compostable .
